Time to get crafty again. It has been to long since I have constructed a wearable garment for myself.
I love the look of the Traditional Fisherman’s Guernsey and decided this would be my next project.
A few years ago I purchased the book “Knitting Ganseys by Beth Brown-Reinsel”. This is a fantastic book if you wish to learn all the specifics of Ganseys. Full of diagrams, detailed instructions and patterns for both large Ganseys and a much smaller ‘sampler’ Gansey to teach you all the techniques.
Really the only flaw with the book is by the publisher. The photographs are dull and lack contrast, which makes it very difficult to make out the details in the Ganseys. A fault of not being converted correctly to the Black and White format used throughout the book. Hopefully when they republish they will adjust the images and make the book easier to understand.
Last year I predominantly knitted Beanies for all the family, this was part of teaching myself continental knitting and thereby incorporating lots of practice. Last count was 9 Beanies.
